Copyright. ^^; I guess Ironclad asked BGG to remove the game due to it having the same name and the same premise. Don't want me making "money" off of their product. I plan on contacting Ironclad to see if I rename it and just state that it is influenced by SoaSE, if I can post it then. We'll see though. ^^;; I just found out myself lol.

Nice. Too bad we already bought it! There's also a THQ bundle on Impulse. For $49.99 you get the entire Company of Heroes series, all of Warhammer Dawn of War 1 games, two Full Spectrum Warrior games, Juiced 2, three Red Faction games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Supreme Commander and the expansion, Titan Quest and the expansion and World of Zoo. Pretty good, considering just getting Dawn of War is 50 bucks.

SOUNDS AWESOME... 50 bucks for ALL of those games...? Anyway, I spent all day for myself. I figured that since I didn't have school today (thank you random holidays), I'd do some game design, of which I haven't been able to do since I started school (or at least do anything major). I decided since I have a dozen Sins of a Solar Empire Board Game games under my belt, it is time to finish designs and finish the Race abilities as far as actual abilities, and actually making the cards look some-what decent. I didn't go for a steeling of their graphics, just to help my chances of getting the game back on BGG (which I am working on), so I had to design it pretty much with my own graphics, or at least nothing copyrighted to death. Keep in mind for a board game, (an express one at that) I needed to simplify the race differences, or exaggerate them to get a working game. Also keep in mind, that fleets are literally dice. There is not individual movements of each ship. You have fleet position counters, telling you what fleet is where, but that is it. It's a strategic level game, not tactical. With that comes abstractness. These cards are folded in half, and placed in thick plastic card sleeves. This allows you to use dry-erase markers to highlight the technology you've researched through-out the game. That is also why there is a fold line down the middle of the image. Here is a printable, disposable score card. I don't plan on pimping these out, as they are written on and saved. It's probably the most complex aspect of the game, right above Culture management. I think it's a cool score system though. It's detailed enough to be able to tell each players strong points, and where they need to improve (if any is needed).

Did you ever hear back from Ironclad? Just wondering what they said if anything at all, but I'm not expecting much. Since it's probably not a decision made by anyone you could actually reach.

Nothing yet. I may be emailing them again in a week or so. I don't mind the whole "change the name" thing, but I like the game and it grabbed some attention on BGG.

Another thing, this looks like it will be awesome! I hope it works as well as I hope it does.. it seems liek it changes fleet formations and tactics. Something I felt was DEEPLY missing in the game. I hope it works as well as I think it will. forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/341567

Make sure you get THIS graphic mod. It is updated to run on Entrenchment 1.051 (current version), and makes a HUGE improvement. Turns beam weapons that looked like tiny stars in the distance into large elongated beams of energy, which cause debris to spew from a target when it's Hull is hit. The explosion effects are a lot nicer too, which smoke trails, tons of debris and a larger blast radius. I haven't played against anything more than pirates, but I imagine it will be a big explosion when a capital ship explodes. Download this mod NOW. forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/368651Edit: I took some screens of it, and had them side-by-side comparisons, but Photobucket will not let me upload them for some reason... not sure why... I'll try again later.

Yeah, I downloaded the planet textures and that first version of Bailknight`s Graphic Mod you posted earlier and realized it wouldn't work with Entrenchment 1.051 and found that other one on the forum. I just played a 3 player free for all. I was Vasari and had Advent and TEC as opponents. Played on a small map and I didn't have trouble for awhile.. until a TEC fleet showed up at what I'd call my center of operations, because it's where I had all my frigate factories.. had like four of them, and I thought "OK, no big deal".. but then the Advent showed up. I thought to myself "A three way battle? THIS IS GOING TO BE SO EPIC" but something was off.. What's this? Why aren't they attacking eachother? THEY HAVE A PEACE TREATY? IT'S OVER, THE VASARI ARE FINISHED! As you can imagine, I got completely massacred. Didn't help that my frigate production was halted because the Advent-TEC alliance destroyed all of my factories. Those bastards. I'm turning on fixed teams next time.
