I have been looking for something a bit new for us all to play at once, rather than just 1 or 2 of us at a time (like WC3 or SC), so I thought about a FPS we could all play. It would have to be an older game so everyone's computer could play it. So I thought maybe Unreal Tournament (99) or Quake II? UT99 seems like something I would easily buy. There are still loads of downloadable maps and models to expand gameplay goodness, and it doesn't use STEAM (stupid Half-Life...). The game it's self is only 4 bucks for a used copy. It has bots, again unlike Half Life) and it has some pretty solid game-play modes for online. Quake 2 is also about 4 bucks, but the downloadable content is about half of UT99. Both games feature pretty low-level graphics, so if you can play WC3, you should easily be able to play either game, has WC3 probably has more high-resolution textures and models than either of the two games do. Let me know what you think. I searched some free FPS games, and came up with a couple. One being D-day: Normandy, which is of course a WWII sim that you can play axis and allies, and to boot, it is actually a Quake 2 mod, but then they turned it into a stand alone free game that comes with the source code so it will play by it's self. It appears to have some downloadable content as well. I will let you know what I think of it, but I really hope we can all play at least SOMETHING together.. There is also a Paint Ball FPS, which was fun last time I played it, but I could never easier connect with anyone. It was an older build, so many it's better now... Here's the game site though dday.planetquake.gamespy.com/site/index.php

Alrighty, played the D-Day game and it was bad... Very sluggish and sloppy graphics and no body plays it. Found a couple more that look promising. Purge: I tired this out and it seems very cool. Graphics are pretty nice but nothing special. Probably on the same level as Half Life. The gameplay seems really cool, as it has RPG elements in it, such as specific character attributes and a leveling system with experience. There are no bots, but has a lot of what seems to be fun multiplayer modes (No body plays the game anymore so I didn't play with anyone). I suggest we try it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purge_(game)Second, Urban Terror. A tactical FPS, it takes place in the present. VERY cool and fun game. Feels a bit like Counter Strike, only more fast paced and a bit more realistic. There are some cool things you can do in it, like pull yourself up on a ledge, climb more than just ladders and get hurt in locations such as legs and arms. Very cool game, I'd strongly suggest we start playing this game if you can. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Terror

I have yet to stop playing Urban Terror. I have yet to get very good at it though as it's much more tactical than most games, and the life span is typically 1 or 2 kills and your dead... if you're lucky.
Anyway, if you haven't tried the game out, I strongly suggest you do. It's sickly addictive and it's free. You can't beat it.

I'm up for UT99 or whatever, but I think the problem's just that everyone has different schedules. I mean, I hardly get a chance to talk to anyone other than Scott.
Maybe if we designate a specific game night, like a week in advance or whatever it would work.

It sure would be easier if everyone had the same days off generally, or if I just didn't go to work at the same time everyone gets off...
Sundays and every other Wednesday would be awesome for me personally. Sunday afternoons are generally lazy, and I have every other Wednesday off, which means Justin and Scott are at moms with computers, and in the afternoon everyone is off work.
Urban Terror is still my personal favorite even though I suck at it. It's free and uses low resources so everyone should be able to play.
I vote this Wednesday, but I'm sure no one will read this until Thursday, lol.
