I always thought the idea of the Zelda games being connected chronologically was pretty stupid and something fans merely thought up but I guess Nintendo actually made it official. vgtribune.com/zelda-timeline-revealed/Figured this would be something Justin would be interested in.

Seems kinda stupid to me... I like Zelda and all, but none of the games really felt "connected" and was more on the lines of Final Fantasy only with the same general cast of characters rather than completely different ones like FF...

Yeah, I agree completely. But for some strange reason people tend to think of any series of fiction to be chronologically connected and I'm sure when Miyamoto came up with a lot of these Zelda games he didn't think of the games being connected at all. Probably wasn't until fans started coming up with theories that it was basically retconned in. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHCbp5LTgbUThis video sums up this retconned Zelda fanfiction pretty well, I think.

If memory serves, the only 2 Zelda games that could even be closely related is Ocerena of Time and Majoho's Mask (bad spelling?). MAYBE Twilight Princess somewhere in there. Even then, they're very loosely based off each other, if at all.
