My computer has been starting up very very funny lately. When it DOES start up, it takes about 10-15 minutes (literally) to load up everything. Explorer will start up just fine, but my mouse tablet driver, my Navdia gamma corrections, and my internet does not load right away. Instead, it is a step by step process, one by one they will start up easily. However, there is TONS of time between each process. My task menu says my computer is used little to no CPU, and the RAM memory does not build up slowly for any of the processes either. I have done some looking online, but I cannot find anything... Does anyone have any idea (namely Jay)? To answer any of your questions, I go to msconfig to reconfigure my start up programs, and regardless of what I do, it always starts up SLOOOOOOOW. It almost never fails to finish starting up, and when it does start up, my computer runs nice and smooth. Very frustrating.

That could be a lot of things, which is probably why it's hard to find tech support help online. Well that, and it's mostly idiots trying to run Windows XP on like a Pentium 2 or something.
So, from the sounds of it you don't have any trouble running stuff after everything has loaded? Like not even from playing a game or something? Do you have any trouble booting in safe mode? Have you tried doing an Adware and Spyware scan? Because that's what it sounds like, if anything. I'd scan for viruses too, while you're at it.
From the sounds of it, you tried disabling all the different startup programs? Has anything updated recently?

No trouble what-so-ever. I can do anything I could have normally done ONCE it actually starts up. Most of your suggestions I have already tried. I haven't scanned for viruses though, as of yet anyway. I have no trouble running in safe mode because all of the things that are causing the problem do not start up in safe mode anyway. So far nothing has updated it's self except Spybot, but I don't see how it would effect anything like that. It's pretty frustrating. It is still doing it, although since I defragged it hasn't done it nearly as often. What gets me is that it hadn't been a long time since the last time I defragged (like.. a week or so). So it wasn't that messy to begin with.
I personally just wanna throw my computer out the window. It is starting to age very badly, now that programs are being made to run with duel+ processors. Almost none of my Adobe software runs very reliably, and I can't play many newer games. On top of this, if I am going to get into computers, I would think I would need a better computer anyway. I don't know if I am going to build one or not though... I think I want to, but it's a lot of work, and it may cost a bit more than ordering a cheapy from ibuypower.com or something. It WOULD however, be a darn good computer if I did build it.... hmm... *goes and looks at computer parts*

That'd be a good option, if you're able to afford it. Maybe you'll be able to run StarCraft 2 on max. settings. Bwahaha!
