I don't know if he still is, but he was having trouble with his PC fans. His computer was overheating to the point where the room would smell like burnt plastic/metal. Dunno if that's why it's going to be awhile. I bought Sins of a Solar Empire using Impulse, so lemme know when you want to play. I was thinking about buying Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, too.

OOOOooooooooo.... YOU BOUGHT IT!!!!! WE'll HAVE TO PLAY TONIGHT THEN
Naw, Justin's computer actually died yesterday. He called me and told me that it would boot up, but while still in DOS, it would ask him if he wanted to boot normally, or in safe mode. Once he selected either one of them, it would load up the Windows loading screen, and just die. My first thought was a short circuit. I knew he was having problems with his fans, and thought it could be that, but if it was, it wouldn't start up in the first place (or so you'd think). It sounds to me now like a software problem, having nothing to do really with his fans or electronic situation. I tried calling him today, but he didn't answer. But yeah, I know it'll be a while for him cause of money and other evils of the world like that.

YES, I HAVE DONE IT! I HAVE OBLITERATED MY FIRST OPPONENT! Took almost 2 hours, however it was only a single star system.
BTW, I don't know if you called yesterday. I fell asleep around.. I dunno, 7 or 8 O' Clock.

I did call actually, but yeah, it was around 845 or something your time. Sorry it was so late. It was sad -_-
Good job obliterating your opponent! Was it on easy or normal? I've yet to take a normal AI seriously, and mostly play against easy. But I am still feeling the game out. Probably could take on a normal though. 2 hours ain't bad! I normally go for 3... Although.. I spend a good amount of time ogling it... lol. Honestly I will sit there and just change angles, mess around with the zoom, get a nice view of my fleet, take screenshots, watch battles in cinematic modes while locked on to my hoards of fighters (which is awesome btw)... fun stuff. Seriously great game. If not to play, than just to look at. >: )

It was on easy. Oddly enough, I just beat a normal AI, in a larger galaxy, and it only took a hour. Had a harder time with that easy computer. Can't wait to play another multiplayer game, now that I know how to play.

That is odd... What is your idea of a larger galaxy though? I personally play on 17-20 planets, with the map designer.
I can't wait to play again either! I am loaded down with tons of homework today, but I think tomorrow I will be good to play again... Now if only Justin could play it...

I made us a Binary star system on my homework break. It's modestly sized with about 15-16 planets per star system, and 2 players on each star system. On top of that, there is Crystal! It will still take a while to play being there is 2 star systems... Btw.. What is your settings in your Options Jay? Mine are medium across the board when I do multiplayer, but when it's just 1 comp and I, I do high. My question being that your computer was having a hard time last night. I found that it makes a huge difference in your performance when you change settings. Also there are a few things you can uncheck that you probably wont miss very much that will boost the game performance. In the Options/Effects menu, you can uncheck Asteroids, which will disable all misc floating asteroids and only show needed ones. Uncheck Dust Clouds, and Colored Skyboxes as well. These are mostly just for visuals and really don't do much. I did try playing with out any Deep Space skyboxes, but it renders your units almost invisible to the dakr space around them without some kind of contrast. Also, turn off the Shake Camera, it's useless and somewhat annoying honestly. Turn your Exhaust detail all the way down Lastly, those Mesh highlight filters are nice, but they are also not needed. I used a FPS calculator and found that if these options are all turned off and the game is running on low texture detail, it will improve the FPS rate by 5-10! That's oddly a big difference when you've got 75+ ships attacking another 75+ ships. Even if you're only taking off 25kb per ship... that adds up....

Holy cow time goes fast... -_- Sorry I didn't call, we didn't get done with my party until 1am. By the time I even realized what time it was, it was already 1030pm, so I didn't want to wake you up. BUT if I get off work early tomorrow or the next day, would you be up for finishing it? I wouldn't get home until 10pm your time, so it's up to you. Just let me know on here (assuming you read this on time) if you're up for that. Again, sorry, I was really looking forward to finishing that game...

Yes. Monday or Tuesday. Maybe two games even. I don't have school on Monday, and no project due for Psych. either, so I should be more free then. Thanks! We actually played Munchkin, which is a parody card game of D&D. It sells it's self as "Dungeon crawling without the dungeon." Fun times. Melissa made me Manacotii for dinner, and they bought me a 7 pound "death by chocolate" cake... It was huge... and chocolaty... Fun times. REALLY wished we started earlier though so we could have finished our game. Meli was even bummed out because she knew how much I was looking forward to finishing our game... We will crush them on Monday though! >: )

Oh, make sure you go through the tutorials. They really are a lot of help and point out some really nice tips.
To bad there isn't a campaign mode though (for you anyway).
