I'm still passing out and I'm having such a hard time functioning at work.. Today my blood sugar took a nosedive at work literally four hours after eating. Not only did it drastically affect my brain function but my feet were cramping up too. That's not the first time they've cramped up either.. in fact, I've gotten severe cramps in my hands too. At least I think it was muscle cramps.. it was like my feet would hurt but I couldn't stop my feet from squirming around in my shoes. So anyway, I hard a terrible day at work (every day is terrible, to be honest).. got home and called the Doctor's office. I've been trying to get an appointment with a new Endocrinologist for... weeks now. I honestly felt like the office staff were running circles around me. A couple of days ago, I called to make an appointment. They never called back. So I called them and finally got an appointment arranged.. however, it's not until MARCH. What the crap, man.. I honestly feel like I'm falling apart. I can't wait that long. Three months might be no problem for some people, but this thing is ravaging not only my life but my body as well.. and if this continues I feel like I'm either going to get fired from work (because it's so hard just working there) or pass out and not wake up. I need help.. man, I needed help a long time ago.

If you get fired, you can then get ahcccs. When your blood sugar drops, go to the er. I know they will bill you, but they will either write it off or toss you on ahcccs. You are right in that you cannot live like this. Your blood sugar is life threatening and you cannot be denied health care. Did you tell the new dr what is going on? Did you ask to get in an emergency basis? Do you want to come stay with me? What can I do to help? Call you at a certain time daily? Maybe give me a key to your place, and the ONLY time I would go there is in an emergancy. Do you have enough to eat? Jay, get help, tell me what you need dr wise and I will do it for you. I can be a nice pregnant dog and get my point across-as I am sure you have seen. You are going to have a breakdown. This is bull and needs dealth with NOW. 869-5844, call. love you

[q]I can be a nice pregnant dog and get my point across-as I am sure you have seen.[/p] ...What the heck...? Anyway, mom is right. Go to the ER. When Melissa went for her hand, they wrote it off, and we make more money than you do. I doubt that they will make you pay for this, especially if you explain that it is effecting your work and you're getting less hours for it. On top of that, you need to be a jerk to them sometimes. I know that it sucks, and (from what I know) it would probably take a lot for you to be as such to someone you don't know, but they are seriously giving you the run around. You need to put your foot down and say "look, I am passing out all the time now, I may loose my job over this and I'm scare I won't wake up tomorrow." March is too far away for something that appears to be getting worse by the week. It is an emergency and they need to make room for you to see them within a month at the MOST. Someone needs to see you sooner than that. As much as you may not like it, maybe you should stay with Mom for a while (not that you don't like her, but I am sure you like having some independence). It may save on bills, and it could give you a sense of security having someone able to check on you more than once a week, at least until this thing is finished and you get some real help. In closing, I really think you should put your foot down and be a little bit of a jerk and let them know what you're going through. This is your life we're talking about here. They're jerking you around like your a number on a piece of paper, and you're not. Sadly, if you be really firm about things, people notice you more. Plus, they have to see you if it's an emergency. Josh out.

ya, what Josh said, but you need to see someone today, not just within a month. Pregnant dog? where did that come from? I did not type that. Oh and a b!^@h is a female dog; she doesn't need to be pregnant. Hey, throw a hot man at me and I am dog! ruff, ruff, pant, pant.. ;D lmao. Anyway, back to seriousness-Jay, I have the next four days off, and though I will be baking, and dealing with finding the right place for my dad to move to, I can and will help you. We are going to be at my moms tomorrow afternoon-how about I get you and bring you for dinner and we can talk? (oh, and I would never take away your independence!)

You should definitely get in to see someone now. Even if you have to go to the emergency room. You can't think about how much its going to cost, you have a life threatening condition. No one can put a price on your life. I found this site with a list of endocrinologists in tucson www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/arizona/endocrinologists/Tucson.html try calling all of these people for an appointment. I'm sure someone can take you. Make sure you get the point across that its an emergency. You could slip into a coma and never wake up or worse you could have irreparable brain damage. I'm sure that Becky would have no problem getting you where you need to go. We all love you Jay and we want you to get better. If we were down there right now, we'd be hauling your butt to some clinic right this second.

Jay is here and we talked. He's going to call the Dr on Mon and tell them he needs to get in on an emergency basis and if they can't get him in soon, we will go from there. I gave him some ideas on how to keep his sugar more level also. Just for your peace of mind, here is a pic of him eating dinner tonight-baked chicken, baked potato, broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. He is now in with Justin laughing a lot. It's nice. i182.photobucket.com/albums/x226/msscorpntuc/Jay12-12-09.jpg

That's a good "What the heck are you doing, woman?" expression! lol I hope things go well tomorrow, I'll probably call Jay tomorrow to see how it went. Jay, if you could post what happens with that, that would be awesome. ^_^
We're all behind you!
PS: Could you PM me your address?

Jay, St Elizabeth of Hunary clinic on Speedway helps with meds and all kinds of medical issues including dental. You would need to go registar and they go on a sliding scale. Worth a shot. Their nunber is 628-7871. Have you called the Pima County Health Dept directly? I am thinking more about your meds than anything-number is 740-8866. We were talking about El Rio. The number to the one on Golf Links and Kolb is 309-3200 and has a pharmacy.
Please call of them and explain your situation. I'd start with El Rio and St. Elizabeths.

Pima County Health is a state run organization, so would they help any more than the help he's already applied for? I mean... I dunno, it's obviously worth a shot, but state help doesn't seem to be the best way to start... I hope things go well and you find some help. If you need me to call anyone I will, that way we can get more ground covered. I dunno if that's legit though... We'll see. I'd love to help with what I can do from up here.

I only added that because they may have some resourses for meds. Jay, let people know you fear for your life and you are having major issues at work also. Remember I will be your "pregnant dog" if you need one. Love you hun

I called the Endocrinologist's office and got added to the "cancellation" list. Who knows if I'll get called any time soon, though. I do need a new prescription for meds, because I don't have it anymore. I'm still having trouble.. I mean, as far as the sleeping thing. I've actually fallen asleep without eating probably like three or four times since I was over for dinner. Only passed out once, though. (Happened this morning and yes, I was late for work because of it) I honestly don't think it's just a lack of sleep thing either.. It just seems like I never have energy and the more I sleep, the worse it gets. There's times that I get home from work and don't do anything because I'm just too tired.

Weird... Sounds like you're feeling some of the more long-term effects of the condition as result of not having it taken care of (not taking meds or having that tumor removed). I just hope that while it's bad, it is actually good in terms of the tumor being large enough now to be zapped.
I really do think you should call someone else as well, and get in touch with a few other doctors while waiting for this cancellation list to POSSIBLY turn a good corner.
We're still praying for you. I hope things don't get much worse... -_-
