Merry Christmas to you as well sir. I hope you're able to do something with Justin and them sometime soon. I am sure you'll have fun there.
Good luck tomorrow with work and all! I'm working tomorrow as well, but you will have a much harder time than I, and I do not envy you at all.
Gotta love the legions of soldiers marching. That is honestly all I can recall the lobby of Denny's looking like on Christmas... Good luck and have a Merry Christmas!

Just got back from work and I'd just like to say, that was the most disappointing battle ever. I mean.. yeah, it was fairly busy in the morning. We had an approx. 30 minute wait time to be seated, and a hour wait on food but the lobby wasn't crammed packed with people (like, to the point where there's not much room to stand) like I've experienced in the past. Also, things slowed down considerably in the afternoon. It was steady but we haven't been on a wait since.. probably 1-2 PM. (It's 5 PM now) Although, I'm sure the dinner rush is about to hit any minute now. I don't even feel that tired at all. I would've stayed but I have a hard time working with swing crew. Too much arguing over who's next, how little their tips are and not enough team work going on.
The free Grand Slam day was, by far, a much more epic battle. School buses of children coming in, high school kids ditching school, people calling off work and coming in, cars freaking EVERYWHERE, people waiting for tables scattered through out the parking lot, hour wait times, people parking across the street and walking over... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And I'd just like to say that it was d**n near impossible to seat people that day, because you had to go outside and literally hunt for them. We actually had a guest who was mad because she got skipped because she was sitting in her car, waiting for a table.

The car wasn't even by the entrance either. It was all the way around the building.

That's almost worse than getting your butt kicked honestly. It's actually a good feeling when you get home and out of the shower, knowing you just looked into the eyes of death and can laugh about it with your Denny's friends later. How much did you guys do? I just got off the phone with Dad, I guess his store was over 10,000 by the time he left at 10pm, and he anticipated another 1 thousand or more from the Christmas night Friday bar rush later tonight. Actually I have NEVER had to hunt for people in their cars waiting for people. My advice is to make up a nice little sign that tells people they will be skipped and thrown in the gutter if they are not within yelling distance from the front door (and make it clear it's the FRONT door). You can make it in the style of the crayon signs I made for Jeremy in those years past. That tread was awesome, even though I got a slight case of PTSD from it... lol. Good times.

Btw... I tried to watch that Christmas special... I couldn't even watch it all... Not because of the Guy with Glasses, but that movie looked so awful... I mean... just... horrible.... awful.... bad.

Interesting... I heard this song for the first time today. I wasn't even looking for Christmas music, but I guess this song is a very old Christmas choral from the Renaissance era... I really like Woven Hands version of it, which is here: Down in Yon Forest www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgg0S5scDcsBy another artist (which makes me love the Woven Hand version so much more) www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo4-bOxI_fg
