I just finished this masterpiece of a movie, even though I should be in bed, as I need to get up for school in a few short hours. However, i felt the need to tell you about it, in case you all get the chance to see it. Brazil is a retro-style sci-fi movie, set in the near future, but very 50s-esque. It was filmed in the 80s, so it's pretty cheesy, but it apparently was written by the same guy who wrote Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Basically, the movie is about a normal guy who has very fantastic dreams of fantasy, flying, and a girl. He realizes that this girl is a real person, and decides to pursue her. However, she is a suspected terrorist, and there-fore, classified. He then pushes for a promotion in the Ministry of Information in order to gain access to her. However, it is sort of like the movie 1985, or Equilibrium, in that the government is extremely corrupt and controlled. He ends up becoming enemy #1 though mishaps and misunderstandings. There's more. The movie is TOTALLY bizarre. Not a serious take on the serious subject and story. If you combined the odd dark sense of humor of Monty Python, mixed with Jacobs Ladder, Equilibrium and Blade Runner. This is all then coupled with the utter cheesiness of the 80s. A VERY good film. Well worth your time. Here's a unofficial trailer. I found that the trailers do the movie ZERO justice, and literally make make it look like a average, weird movie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pbpv8_3Dw4

Indeed. The trailer does not do it justice. If you liked any of the movies I mentioned, you're sure to love it. It's psychological, funny, social parody, sci-fi and some action all bundled to form a very cool movie. I would suggest Net-Flix. We get it for 10 bucks a month, and we get 1 DVD at a time, plus unlimited movie streaming. Of course, the movie selection for streaming isn't fantastic, but there are some really cool things on there. Lots of TV series (Mythbusters being the only thing I personally watch on it). It's a good buy if you like movies. Plus, they have lots of anime too.
