Hahahaha oh wow. Also, it's sad to think about it but the DS has been in the market for like.. 6 years or something now and has been declining in sales with not many games coming out anymore. So it makes sense to make a new handheld but still.. what the heck. Also, there's speculation that Sony's going to come out with a new handheld in a year or two but that's not from a press release, it's just guessing.
When I think about it, it makes me kinda worried that this generation is now considered over and Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft and gonna be coming out with new consoles already. Sad, just so sad..

6 YEARS!? Whoa... that is kinda sad that the new gens are already getting "old"... I hope to see them continue for a few more years at least. Though, I wonder if Sony will be coming out with a new one ever, since PS3 did so bad.. Although it seems to have picked up over the past year or so with the price drops and such. That new DS looks a bit stupid imo... It's cool technology wise, but in practical use, they're limiting themselves even more to specialized games only than the DS did originally. It looks as though they basically took the Wii remote and stuck it in a hand held so you can look around a room without touching any buttons... Doesn't look THAT amazing... Unless it's totally difference than the example above. Thanks for the news though. I am now depressed in my old age ^_~

No one knows anything, other than: 1) It's backwards compatible with DS and DSi games and 2) Games are in 3D, without the use of 3D glasses We don't know if that's how the new handheld is going to work, it's just guessing that's what Nintendo meant by "3D without use of glasses". Of course, there's people joking around saying it transmits holograms or projects a video signal directly into your brain.. lol But we'll have to wait and see. Ultimately games with good gameplay is what matters, and if they just come out with a handheld with crappy games that exist just to play around with 3D effects, then I don't see the point. Kinda like a lot of those DS games that were made just to show off the touch screen and nothing more.

...Like Cooking Mama... All you do is touch the screen. Literally, that's it... Yeah, the more "advanced" we get with these games, and the more innovative consoles get, the more they're limiting themselves to what kinds of games will be played on them... Sounds like they're digging their own holes... I just kinda hope that Nintendo knows what they're doing and doesn't get caught up in the whole "we need to change the way people play games" thing, cause they're just going to end up like Apple and make of joke of themselves every time they come out with something.

"we need to change the way people play games" What's funny is that Nintendo was LITERALLY saying that with the Wii. It was their slogan, no joke about it. ...Like Cooking Mama... All you do is touch the screen. DON'T BE DISSIN' MAMA

TRUE I forgot about that, freaking Apple wanna-be's.... Freaking hate Apple... lol. Wii is pretty cool, and does change the way people plays games (unlike Apple), but it's still so darn specialized toward a very specific type of game. After those games, everything needs to be played on a game cube controller. And with Nintendo's habit of not releasing any NEW games, and having only sequels, there is little reason to buy a Wii anyway...

Personally, if a game lets you either use the Gamecube controller or the Classic Controller then I'd just use that. Playing games like Smash Bros. on the regular Wii controller was just impossible for me. When I was playing with Justin, it was like giving him a huge handicap.
