I dunno if you noticed, but movies based off video games has seemed to become more popular in Hollywood. Why, I dunno because they usually don't do too well in the box office because.. you know, they usually suck pretty bad. Just the last couple of years there's been a few.. Hit Man, Far Cry, Max Payne, that new Street Fighter, that new Alone in the Dark, etc. Most of these movies I didn't even know it was coming out, or that it was already out. Resident Evil 4I have no idea why they keep releasing these and why Milla Jovovich keeps signing up for it but whatever. I liked the first movie, even though it wasn't what you'd call accurate. The second was bad but still had some entertainment value, IMO. The third one.. no, just no. And now they're making a fourth one? Lemme guess, there's five numbered Resident Evil titles so they're gonna make a fifth movie too? Also, I find it funny how it boasts about the whole 3D thing. 3D has made a comeback, it seems. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQIwVXPrw4MPrince of Persia: Sands of TimeNever played the games but I think this one actually looks decent. Probably the only one that looks decent. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXmicz3KPfI TekkenFrom my understanding, it's been out for awhile but it was decided not to bring it to the US? Even though there's American Actors.. weird. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWVTLLPwaQcKing of FightersI love the old King of Fighters games but this is probably the worst movie here. Oddly enough, this was screened in the US even though King of Fighters doesn't have too much recognition compared to the likes of Tekken. www.youtube.com/watch?v=48dhSYdP79cThere's also a THIRD Blood Rayne movie coming out (there was a second?? Why?), a THIRD Mortal Kombat and some completely random Kane & Lynch movie.

King of the Fighters is an awesome game, but any fighting game turned movie will suck.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was actually really cool. It was a lot like the game, but it also kept to a movie base. Some people think it is so-so, but I though it was a lot of fun, interesting plot, good characters, awesome action scenes... Everything in a fun movie.

Never played any of the Prince of Persia games but yeah, it does look like a good movie. At the very least it actually has a budget. Odd, I could've sworn I saw Panda.. Here's the King of Fighters trailer because it got removed for some reason. God, it looks even worse than I remember. So have you guys seen any new movies lately? I haven't actually watched anything in a long time..

Actually, Meli and I went on a Movie/TV fast, and we're still on it until the end of the month. It's actually pretty eye opening... I think the last movie I watched was Dune, which I actually posted about on here... ^^; Maybe it was Prince of Persia...? I don't remember... Actually, the King of Fighters looks a lot better without the audio!! It still looks awful though... Plus, it doesn't look like Iori is in it, so it sucks even more... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iori_Yagami

Nice! Yeah, basically they just sit around and make really stupid movies that people continue to say they hate, but then go see them 3 times. Looks funny though, but only because I've seen both Twilights (thanks Meli... -_-), and I didn't like them. I think it's funny how this will only make those movies that much more popular.

I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of parodies because I've never watched any of the Twilight films.

Eh, if you've seen the trailers, you've seen the movie. It feels like the Disney Channel trying to do teen dramas...

Saw Inception yesterday. We don't go to the movies really anymore, but I had to see this movie. I LOVE Christopher Nolan's work on other movies (Batman Begins, The Prestige), so it was a no brainier.
Of course, I loved it. It was somewhat psychological, with lots of mind bending, and truly awesome action scenes. It was amazingly well written, with very good characters, a unnaturally well developed main character, as well as believable situations and well thought out plots. It kept to his usual dark style, but it was surprisingly "cleaner" than I was expecting. I liked how it didn't have to be ultra-violent, or use the F bomb every 2 seconds to gain a griddy, dark edgy atmosphere. Nolan did this with intellect, thought and character.
I won't say anything else except the movie is full of "what the heck?"s and the ending leaves you pretty much guessing as to what to make of it. I'll have to see it at least once more to grasp it... lol.
GO SEE IT IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! IF NOT, WHEN IT COMES OUT ON DVD, GO SEE IT THEN!!!!

I've hardly watched anything in a lot time.. there's still a lot of movies I tell myself I should see it and yet haven't gotten around to it - like Avatar. When Jon came over we did go see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, though. It's completely different from a movie like Inception (which looks good, BTW), as it's just merely a comedy but I did find it really, really funny. I could see some people not getting into it because it really does have a lot of video game references and a whole comic book style to it, and the reason for that being that it's actually based off a graphic novel series. Don't know much about or care for the graphic novels but I definitely enjoyed the movie. I really want to watch it again because it cracked me up so much.

Actually, from the preview I saw of that movie, I thought it was a Disney movie, lol. I must have been greatly mistaken.
I don't want movies very much anymore either. They're all crap, and if they're not crap, they're not things I should be watching anyway, or both... mostly both actually... Anyway, I did watch a REALLY good movie called The Book Of Eli, which is a typical setting post-apocalyptic, violent movie at first, but it has a lot of deep characters, a good flow, and most of all, a unusual plot... The main character has a major characteristic that is highly debatable at the end of the movie, which I always love. Also, the main character is transporting the last Bible known to existence. Via divine intervention (or so it's suggested), he must transport the book to an unknown (to him) place where it will be safe. In the movie though, the world blames God for the "war" and the "flash", which are never truly explained and left to the imagination (another plus for the movie), and people destroyed all Bibles. Of course, everyone finds out he has it and they are trying to get the book for themselves (to use it's power to bend people to their will).
I thought it was well done, and it was surprisingly not blasphemous, as Hollywood normally re-writes the Bible to make a more interesting story. I do like the setting, but sadly most post-apocalyptic movies are nothing but mindless violence and some "HOLY COW GLOBAL WAR OR WARMING OR SOMETHING HAPPENED AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND EXPLANATIONS".
BTW, Inception was an awesome movie.
BTW... I am not done rambling. I am so sick and tired of Hollywood remaking or adapting EVERYTHING, and coming up with no good ideas of their own. I think it's pathetic, stupid and hopeless. YOGI BEAR THE MOVIE COME SEE WOW IT IS FOR TEH NEW GENERATION WHO CANT APPRECIATE THE BAD ANIMATION OF THE OLD!!!!!!! Just wait, THE SMURFS will be the next crappy animated cartoon to be raped by Hollywood, with Ben Afleck as Papa Smurf and Hanna Montana as... the female smurf... cant remember her name... Anyway, seriously, time to suck it up and starting thinking about something new. Inception was AWESOME, Book of Eli, GREAT, Transformers Remake II...? WHAT THE CRAP!? WHY!?
While I admit, my bias would be a bit more flexible if they made a Battletech movie, or a Lost Fleet movie, or even a StarCraft movie, but seriously, even then, are they that desperate to make a movie out of a cult-classic miniature boardgame? Granted it has good characters and a interesting plot, but we all know they would screw it up anyway and make the mechs combine and transform into a super mech that is the "UNKNOWN EVIL OF TEH UNIVERSE"...
Oh crap... What if they made a "classic" Power Rangers movie with a huge budget and a mega sound track... It is on the horizon though Im sure. Seriously though, couldn't you just see it? It would be the new Dragon Ball movie, only worse!!! Bruce Willis would have to be in it though as Zed, and Leonard Nemoy would be the narrator of the epic tale of cheese and crackers.
On the back burner though are the writers who think for themselves and spend night and day writing a beautiful masterpiece of a script, original, thought provoking and deep. It gets used as a booster seat for the stars in the next Hanna Montana movie!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MY BRAIN FEELS LIKE IT IS MOVING!!!!!!!! STOPPPPP PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!!!!!!!! MUST.... WATCH.... HOLLYWOOD.... REMAKE................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
