store.steampowered.com/June 30th - July 10th. Pretty much everything is on sale. Gonna pick up a couple of games, just not sure where to start.. but I will be watching the daily sales for something good. I have played Recettear before and it's decent cute little indie game.. might be worth the $5.

Nice!!! I just bought a few games I had been wanting anyway, but this sale was a good reason to get them. Bought: Children Of the Nile ($2.50) Future Wars ($2.50) Just Cause 2 ($5.00)
Love those $2.50 games... lol.

So far I've bought: Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition Just Cause 2 Monday Night Combat Plain Sight Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale Terraria Torchlight Total War: Shogun 2 Trine
Both Dragon Age and Torchlight were pleasant surprises. Torchlight was only like $3 and it turned out to be a really fun hack and slash game, sorta like a casual single player only Diablo. Haven't messed with it yet but it even comes with a level editor to make your own quests. There's a sequel coming out fairly soon that's going to have multiplayer, among other things. Definitely going to buy that at full price. Dragon Age I got for $10. It's a western RPG developed by Bioware. I'm usually not into western RPGs and I'm not too familiar with most of Bioware's work, having only played a little of Mass Effect 1. Seems like there's way more focus on immersion and character, but you can influence how the story flows with how you create your character and what choices you make. Towns feel like real places as there aren't hollow NPCs walking around contributing nothing. Also the gameplay has more meat in this game than in Mass Effect. Soundtrack is pretty good too and overall it's just a beautiful game. Definetly worth the $10.

www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/This site will help to see which games Justin's PC can even run. Another thing is the Grand Prize giveaway: store.steampowered.com/summersale/prizebooth/Basically you earn a ticket for every one of those achievements you earn. Each ticket is an entry to win the top 10 games on your Wishlist. Some of the achievements are pretty simple and don't have to do with any games but Steam itself, such as: -Taking a screenshot of a game and uploading it (using the F12 key) -Joining the Summer Camp Group (http://steamcommunity.com/games/summercamp) -Link your Facebook Profile in Steam -Post a comment on a friend's Steam Community profile page -Recommend a game to your friends -Play a game demo Granted, the chances of winning are next to none but ya never know. Might be worth throwing together a Wishlist. Another thing is, you can redeem 3 tickets for prizes like stuff for AI Fleet or a Killing Floor skin pack. And yes, you can earn achievements from previous days.

I got this so far:
Children of the Nile AI War: Fleet Command Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Garry's Mod Monday Night Combat Future Wars Just Cause 2
So far my favorite has to be Garry's Mod right now... So much exploring and doing mindless junk. And there are so many downloadable goodies out there! I REALLY like Monday Night Combat too, the single player is like a FPS version of a Tower Defense game, which is awesome. Each of the classes are really interesting too. Future Wars is sort of a dud. I got it thinking "MULTIPLAYER ADVANCED WARS!!! YA!!!" But it's only play-by-email, AND it seems pretty buggy. Thankfully it was only a couple bucks. I honestly spent more on the coffee I am currently drinking.
Just Cause is fun, but it's a lot less "sandbox" than I thought it would be... Still a fun action game. I love messing around more than actually playing.
AI War is really interesting, it is like a merging of RTS genres that normally would be kinda weird to think about, but I think it does a good job. It's VERY long, but in real time, but it isn't a micro management sort of game like SoaSE or anything, but rather more like SC where literally everything is about fighting. No culture, populations, or temporary diplomatic alliances, cloaks and daggers or anything. However, it's got TONS of things in it. I'd say it's like a long epic 2D SoaSE, but more on the lines of Starcraft in it's straightforwardness. Still has a nice little learning curve though. Not the best game ever, but well worth it.
Children of the Nile seems to be a in-depth Egyptian version of Sim City in a way. I mean, obviously not, but it is a city building and management game, not an empire, or at least not right away. What I like is that it seems to combine elements of SimCity with that of the Civ series, and maybe even some Tycoon games? I haven't gotten into it really yet, but so far it looks like it will be fun.
HL2 DM I got literally for Garry's Mod, haven't played it, doubt I will, lol.

You asked before what DOTA was. Monday Night Combat IS DOTA as a FPS game. lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3KxudoBhAUIt's a pretty interesting game but I am a little disappointed.. because it's almost strictly a competitive DOTA/FPS game. The single player/co-op mode is nothing but fighting bots which are pretty much meat fodder and really easy even on harder difficulties. Which is how DOTA games are designed, the bots are there to represent the tide of the battle and give players money - not to actually offer much challenge. The real threat are the player-characters. And unfortunately the actual game is only played against other players... would be cool if I could play with AI controlled player-characters in a real game. Don't like playing competitive FPS games because I suck too much and all the kiddies tend to BM. lol Ah well. Sactum is much more of a Tower Defense FPS game. Or so it seems: www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Ds1E88pb0

Just picked up Universe Sandbox... Not so much as a game as it is a fun educational experience. I love astronomy, and have missed it. This will hopefully get me back into it. Plus, playing bowling with stars does sound fun...

The X series is 75% off right now: store.steampowered.com/sale/XSuperboxWhen people talk about space exploration/simulation/4X games I hear Sins of a Solar Empire and Homeworld mentioned a lot, along with X3: Terran Conflict. Thought might it'd be something you'd be interested in looking into. I don't know much about the game myself but I do hear that it has a steep learning curve. EDIT: I did end up buying Dead Space 1 & 2 and Supreme Commander 2. Supreme Commander 2 was only $3.74. Pretty good deal I think.

The X series looked interesting too me, but after looking into it, I am not sure I want it right now (but eventually).
So, with the sale coming to a close, lets look at the games I got:
Team Fortress 2 (FPS Shooter) Alien Swarm (Action, coop shooter) AI War: Fleet Command (RTS strategy) Audiosurf (A DDR "racing game", lets you import songs) Children of the Nile (RTS, city management) Eufloria (A stylish abstract "RTS") Future Wars (turn based war-game) Garry's Mod (time consumer) Half-Life 2: Deathmatch (multiplayer FPS) Just Cause 2 (Action adventure) Monday Night Combat (3rdPS, tower defense) Supreme Commander 2 (RTS) Universe Sandbox (educational, time consumer)
Note that I got most of these for like, 2 or 3 bucks at most. The only game on there I got for more was Just Cause 2, which was 5 bucks. A few of those are free too. Needless to say, I will have plenty of games to keep me busy for the next couple of years. I love PC gaming.

Just played Alien Swarm. AWESOME game, reminds me of Space Hulk (a board game). Lots of action, would be lots of fun coop. Only problem is that there are only a few missions, but there are varied difficulties. So far though, I can't wait to play with you guys. SCHOOL NEEDS TO BE OVER!!!!

Here's my new Steam collection: img221.imageshack.us/img221/3364/steamgamest.jpgActually doesn't look that big. I mean I feel like I bought a lot more. Still, it's probably hundreds more hours worth of games. I'm sad to see the sale go but now because I actually want games, but because I was excited to see what was on the store's front page everyday. As weird as it sounds.. they have sales like this about twice a year though. Next one should be at the end of November.

Actually, your right, it doesn't look like that many games, but when you count them, there are actually quite a bit. I am in the same boat, I have hours upon hours worth of games. Honestly, unless they become dirt cheap again, I cannot justify buying any more video games (I'll still buy board games though lol).

Been uploading screenshots on my Steam Profile: steamcommunity.com/id/WaspmanX/screenshots/By the way, in Just Cause 2 you have to beat the first two missions before the game is actually open to you. Then you can explore and go anywhere you want.
