Sounds about right. They're trying to slam Earth into a Giant Blackhole-controlling Space Roach in order to save humanity.

Out of sheer boredem I watched the new Eva movie. (No one here probably even knew there was a new movie, lol) With all the changes they've made it actually turned out to be decent, to my surprise. Though, I'm still expecting the next couple of movies to go downhill. Dunno what the ending's gonna be like, but I'm guessing it's gonna be just as stupidly random. Though, I'm hoping pregnant doging chair Shinji makes a comeback.

I knew there would be a movie, but I didn't know when or much anything about it. Glad to know it wasn't a total waste of time (like the series, imo). I was not aware they were making more than one though.

I can't remember but I think there's supposed to be like 3 or 4 movies.. something like that. The majority of the first movie is about Shinji and Rei and the fight with the flying diamond of doom, now with new found powers. I guess the writers decided since it was the final angel of the first movie, it must be more final boss-like.

Imagine if the second season of Code Geass aired like four years after season one. Not only that, but it aired IN THE MIDDLE of reruns of season one with pretty much no news report. I mean, it only broke news like three days before it happened. So, it's basically like going to Best Buy and finding StarCraft 2 on the shelf but you never heard anything about a StarCraft 2 even being made so you ask the clerk when it was announced and he tells you "LOL THREE DAYS AGO"
Yeah, it's kinda like that. I mean, an awful lot of people including myself, gave up all hope and figured a second season wasn't happening.
EDIT: Also, reason I posted was because Scott and Justin have seen Haruhi.

Lol nice. I have no idea what anime you're taking about though. Man I am out of the loop... I miss TASS... I have found that I am not as big a fan of Anime as I may have thought, or at least not enough so to keep into it. I feel like the thrill is gone and I've been burnt out on it... Although I still really like the few that I get to see, something is missing in most anime now days and I find it hard to get into. PLUS I can't force myself to sit down by myself and watch a movie, let alone a whole season of anime (or anything else). I am a social TV watcher... That's pretty crazy though. How cool it would be to have seen SCII on the shelves before I even knew it existed... It would be much easier I tell you.. Much easier.

I find anime to be much better as a social thing too. Actually, even after you moved I'd watch anime all the time with Jon. Haruhi being one of the things we watched, when it was still airing. Yeah... you've been gone for quite awhile. 'Course now a days, I'm forced to watch in a dark cave all alone. Anyway, anime, despite having a diverse group of target audiences, tends to be popular with teens and then they get out of it as they get older. You probably fit into that group.
You have missed a lot, though. Some of it good, some of it bad. Slice of Life/Moe AM I KAWAII UGUU~ crap has been the big thing for half a decade now. Not as much adventure-type stuff that was popular in the 90s.

Your post just made me utterly depressed, lol. Yeah, it has been a while now... More than 3 years! It surely does not feel like it to me though, it feels like I had just been down there visiting. I wish Justin and Scott would visit you more often. -_- Not liking the idea of you doing stuff by yourself all the darn time. Well, it's not like I don't like anime, cause I REALLY like it when I watch something good and typically beats just about anything that is made here. I just feel like it is more a social thing, and if the people around me are not into it as much (or at least into things that I am), it seems like it's 1/4th as fun as it could be. I feel a bit spoiled as I went to TASS for so long with you guys, that now if it isn't a big screen with a bunch of people, it's not as fun and therefore.. well... Not as enticing. TASS even became more of a "well... I dunno... I guess we'll go and be the ONLY people there, if there is a TASS this month at all." I am personally into things like board games now days. I have found my own little thing that no one else likes, which seems to make it a bit easier to get involved. It feels like I am a part of a "movement", like I did back when anime wasn't at the tip of everyone's fingers. Sadly and ironically, board games are even more social and VERY VERY VERY VERY VEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRY freaking scarce here. It's kinda stupid I am so in love with something that I can rarely do, yet anime has never been more available to me, and I don't watch it. Back to the subject, I don't tend to like the slice of life stuff, I am MUCH more into the more post apocalyptic/sci fi anime that used to be popular. Even then, there seemed to be a rare amount of good ones that really stood out. That's what drew me so much to Saikano, it had the super depressing love story, with some fantastic apocalyptic undertones and some sci-fi thrown in there as well. Perfection. Same with Code Geass. Post Apocalyptic take over of the world, SUPER badass hero, depressing setting, sci-fi twists and goodness. You know what is coming out now? A freaking live-action Blood The Last Vampire... Whoa...

Oops, forgot about this thread. Yeah, I heard about the Blood movie. I think it's supposed to have a limited released in theatres next week. I wouldn't mind seeing it, but I don't really go to movies anymore as I'm usually broke. Still a lot of movies I want to see, like Transformers 2. Anime-wise, I've cut back a bit as I'm starting to run out of shows that are actually worth watching. Still watching Haruhi 2, Valkyria Chronicles anime, Cross Game, New Full Metal Alchemist and Umineko. Only one episode of Umineko out, in fact it just came out YESTERDAY, and I'm already obsessed with it. Especially the ending theme.

That was a sick ending theme! I must have that...
I've been watching Outlaw Star again with Meli. This is her first time seeing it uncut. >: )
You know... movies are a waist of time/money most of the time. I normally only go to the dollar theater to see movies on the big screen, cause other wise I could put my money to much better use (as I'm also pretty broke). I honestly am not really feeling the need to see Transformers 2. I've heard it took everything good about the first one, then teased us with it as they threw it away. But I'll go see it when it comes to dollar theater of course.
There are often some movies I'd like to see, but lately I haven't been impressed with the ideas Hollywood isn't coming up with (they take their ideas from everyone else now days). I would like to see some "under ground" stuff come out, like... Battletech... lol. But seriously, they are only making movies about things that were really popular 20 some years ago. In another 20 years... What are they going to re-make? TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE... THE REMAKE, THE REMAKE.... THE SQUEAL.... 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have lost faith in man's creativity. I was digging the cool 80s fads coming to life thing the first 100+ movies they made, but it's getting very old, very fast.
BTW... On the subject of movies, I saw the new Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li the other day. MAN that was one HECK of a chopped movie... The plot twists where freaking epic, but what made them even better was they weren't even plot twists!! It was the first time you ever heard of such a person/power/place/thing! There was an awesome scene when Meli and I both had a good long laugh at. The cops were trying to find this "White Rose" that was a shippment that Bison was picking up in such and such days. NOW, we knew there was such a shipment, but the kicker was when it came to them about what it was. "OF COURSE!!!!!!!! IT'S BISON'S LONG LOST DAUGHTER!!! SO THAT'S WHAT HE'S BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE WHOLE ENTIRE TIME!!!" And both Meli and I looked at each other and realized quickly that not only was Bison not looking for her at ALL, but it was implied that his daughter was freaking dead. It was full of awesome plot holes and epicly shot down plot twists... Not that it was a bad movie, it was an awesomely bad movie. Very worth seeing for a good laugh.
