I'm a huge fan of the old C&Cs, they got me into RTSs. The first being tiberian dawn, then tiberian sun, then red alert, red alert 2 + yuri's revenge. I never really got into the command and conquer generals though. It felt like EA games had ruined the C&C feel after they took it from westwood. The voices, the way you move units, it felt like it got bloated compared to the old ones. Yes, C&C 3 is EA games too but I like it better because it keeps units and buildings from the old series.
I have not bought the game so I cannot say how I really feel about it, but I have tried the demo (the demo allows you to do a full tech tree skirmish of the GDI side). It was a lot of fun. It looks like it can get really intense if I were to do multiplayer or a comp on extreme difficulty. Like I said it keeps the old units and structures so it keeps an old C&C feel while bloating it with EA's style and graphics. The system requirements and how it preforms makes me want to buy a new comp so that it can be played silky smooth. If I pump the graphics I can really feel it lag. I think it looks pretty sexy though.
The gameplay actually feels like starcarft on steroids. If I did get a better computer I bet it would run silky smooth like they advertise. The rounds can go pretty fast because the units are intense and there are so many different approaches at killing your enemy. There's a bunch of side tabs to summon paratroopers or para tanks or para snipers or emp artillery, or the ion cannon, which is the sex in this game because it literally reduces the base to tears...

I think the game is pretty good. the sound is good, the graphics look great, I heard multiplayer over the net needs gamespy (meh, not so good) but I would probably be doing any multiplayer over LAN. It would be worth it for just a single player game it seems, I might have to grab it one of these days.
