Lemme know if it works out.
I've been playing some more.. I've learned how different the game actually is, I mean deep down it's still pretty similar, but there's just little things.. like I'm used to StarCraft 1 where you have to put 1 Probe per mineral and any more wouldn't do any good. As opposed to StarCraft 2, where you can have several probes harvesting from the same mineral at the exact same time and as soon as I realized this, I got a lot better at the game. Basically, if you build a lot of Probes/SCVs/Droves you're gonna be gaining resources a LOT quicker and the game basically expects you to do so. So basically, the game feels faster paced compared to StarCraft 1. Also, Protoss' Warp Gates are awesome. Teleporting new units practically instantly anywhere you have a Pylon.. heck yeah.

I'll probably try it out today. I had to work so much last week it was sick.

Well, I guess that's good in a way.. so you're doing OK as far as finances? I've only been working four days a week, so I haven't been getting a whole lot of hours. That's OK with me though, and actually all my vacation time ended up being used up.

Oh yeah, we're doing fine. Not much extra money, but we're on top of bills and all that. We're blessed to have tax returns and school money to pay for a lot of Melis procedure, which is mighty expensive! Plus we're saving a good amount for summer when we may not have school money.
Are you working the full 6-7 hours a day? What are your days off?

Finally got to play a game! It was actually cool cause the 3 other players I was playing with left the game, and I was free to play all by my lonesome. This game me a lot of time to mess around and get to know the units a bit better. First, the game is awesome. There is a slight difference in game play style that I noticed. it seems a bit slower paced than I remember. But then again, that could come from my lack of ever playing it. Second, the units/technology is a bit different, but still has a good SC feel to them.
One thing that really impressed me was the amount of "specialty" involved with the units. Archons can do +11 bonus damage to Biological units, while the Immortal can take a MAXIMUM of 10 damage to it's shields. This makes it weak against units that do small amounts of damage quickly, and strong against units that do mass amounts of damage all at once (siege tanks!). I REALLY like this aspect, and it makes it feel a bit more like the races matter, and makes you think about what you're really building, rather than just massing out 1 or 2 unit types.
There are a bunch of other awesome features that I wont get into right now, but so far, the game is bought.
One thing that was REALLY annoying is going from playing SoaSE, which allows you to see EVERYTHING your doing, to SCII, which allows you to see just a few square yards of ground at a time... But SCII can't compare to SoaSE scale... so I guess they don't need much larger views than that. I look forward to playing this game with you guys. ^_^

Apparently there's a new patch out, which adds some more features like the Map Editor(!), Achievements and Decals, among some other stuff. It's taking me freaking forever to download it though.
Also, Amazon.com and Gamestop are giving away Beta Keys as a preorder bonus for preordering StarCraft 2. It'd be cool if we could play together but meh.. I dunno if my computer could handle it. Just playing against 1 computer puts a lot of stress on my computer.

Also, it'd be awesome if we could get a hold of headsets and try out the voice chat.

Mine's PCI-E x16 1.0. If I do get a video card, chances are I'd probably have to upgrade my power supply too. That's one thing that sucks about most pre-built computers is that they usually have really cheap, low power supplies. Mine's a HP and it only has a 300 watt Power Supply, which is pretty low. Heck, I even noticed this when I was computer browsing earlier this week. Also, I can still upgrade my RAM. Right now I have 1 Gb, and I can go up to 3 Gb.

Well, I didn't have to upgrade my power supply (although I probably should) when I bought my card. It said it needed a 350 watt, and my actual power supply is 300. It runs nicely though, but it does cause a lot of heat... It doesn't affect my computer, but I did notice the temp go up a bit. Sounds like your computer is a lot more upgradable than mine. Mine is fully upgraded to it's max. 1.2 gigs of RAM, 265 MB AGP video card, 2 HDs (total of 300 gigs), with a CD/DVD burner. I think getting a actual video card will help your computers performance, and you can get a low grade one like mine so you're not decking out your power supply. Up to you though. I'm sure you can find a used comp store and get one for much cheaper, and it's not like it'll be worse than what you have now. I bought Meli's computer here: www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=sysIt's still running great, and I got it for 300$. We did have to upgrade the RAM from 512 to 1 gig though but that was pretty cheap too. Plus, if you buy a XP disk for 100$, you can buy a Desktop without an operating system (which is something I'll probably end up doing myself). In the long run, it seems to be cheaper that way anyway. Hope you find a cure for your computer woes.
