So the problem is just that it doesn't reach? You should be able to just plug the case fans directly to the power supply without even needing to plug them into the motherboard.

So far so good. I wasn't able to install the MoBo driver due to my needing some kind of catalyst? Not sure... Any idea?

I was monitoring my CPU temps, and it never got above 50 degrees C. I had read online a while back ago (and somewhat recently as well), that a safe temp for your CPU is around 65. I ran Sins and it got to about 47.

Awesome. Have you checked your video card temps after playing? I'm guessing it'd be in the Nvidia control panel but I dunno.. it is in the ATI control panel.
Glad everything's working fine, though.

It's been a few days, and I've ran into a couple problems, but nothing major at all. The computer is awesome. It feels SO nice. I really like W7 actually, when I didn't think I would. And it's super fast. ^^ I am having mouse compatibility issues though. My mouse will randomly die on me, and require me to restart, which is somewhat understandable since it's a really old mouse, and is more the fault of Wacom than Windows. ANYWAY, so Meli bought Corey's old computer for 300$, which imo is a great deal, as she got a 19 inch flat screen with the deal, plus a fairly decent computer that is only a couple years old. HOWEVER.... It uses Vista.... HOLY CRAP IT SUCKS!!!! I am going to make her upgrade ASAP. It has SO many start up programs it's sickening, and it's so sluggish... The computer it's self is pretty nice: 2.13 ghz Intel Duo (dual core, obviously) 2 gigs of RAM, upgradable to 4 DVD burner Card Reader 7200 Nvidia LE (not so good, but better than my old computer...?) If I put another 100 dollars into it eventually, and upgrade to W7, it'll be a really nice computer. Just complaining though lol.

Got a game yesterday. Quake Wars was part of a buy one get one free sale at Hastings, so Corey and I split it and got it for 5 bucks each. I've yet to really play it, but it is pretty awesome. It's a bit like a hybrid between a arcade style shooter (Team Fortress), and a tactical military sim (Modern Warfare). Lots of team play, but with a bunch of realism as far as the actual tactics/movement. It's somewhat graphic intense, so it's nice to play something that looks great on my comp at full settings. I'll post a few screens later. Anyway, I was hoping you guys could get it too. It's pretty cheap on Amazon (about 10 bucks), and it is so far a pretty rewarding game. You may be able to find it in-town for just as much though, as even Hastings (the king of overpricing) had it normally for 10. Gameplay vid: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK3F3FZfW7M

OK, so I had my first odd problem... Zoe was playing the Sims 3 on my computer last night when I was at work. She had been playing for about an hour when suddenly my computer turned off. She says she bumped it, but she didn't bump it too hard or anything, but enough to move it. It was nowhere near the power button nor the restart button. It just turned it's self off (it didn't restart). I didn't hear about this of course till right before I TRIED to turn my computer on just now. It wouldn't turn on. I checked the power strip, and it's fine. Checked the switch on the power supply, and it's fine. After a couple tries of switching on and off the switch in the back, I was able get the computer on and running. I went right away to the bios and checked system voltages and temps, which are all in perfect operating levels. I've played games for longer than just an hour or so, and it's never had a problem restarting, or even starting at all since I got it. Could it have really been the bump? Jolting something loose that could have made it turn it's self off? Could it have been that my computer just had a random hick-up, or could it have been a software issue with the Sims or something? I'm a bit freaked out and I'm a bit worried. How do I figure this out? My worst fear is my HD dying out... I do plan on doing system checks, but anything else I could do?

Actually, not really.. Everyone seems to be afraid to play it, regardless of the fact that I gave the green light to do so.
But no, it hasn't happened again. ^^;

So, after having my computer for a few weeks now, and having used it for more or less the same things I used my old computer for, I must say a few things.
I am impressed, not only with how good W7 is as a operating system, but how fast it runs. My new comp isn't really THAT much faster than my old comp, maybe by 1ghz, but everything else combined with it is sick. It runs SO much faster, and things are really easy to work with. I recently opened up a photoshop document that is REALLY big that my old computer struggled just to open, let alone edit. My new computer opens it almost just as fast as anything else, and I can edit it fairly quickly (although I can still feel how big it is). Games open much quicker, play smoother. I've yet to see any frame rate dropage, and while playing Sins last week, I really wonder if it was my computer doing the lagging due to the fact that it's so old. My apps use the quad core really easily, and I can not only start using my computer as soon as I turn it on, but I can also open my Media Player, Photoshop and Firefox all around the same time, and see very little down time. Windows starts up really quick, I don't know if that is more Windows 7, or my computer, or both, but MAN, it's almost annoying how fast it starts! I used to turn my comp on, go to the bathroom, get a drink or something, come back and it'd finally start loading the start-up programs. My routine is totally messed up now! Now I can go to the bathroom, turn my comp on, get a drink (quickly) and be back in time to see it finish loading the last program. My screen looks clearer as well. Not sure how, but I've had my new monitor since Christmas, and it was beautiful on my old computer. Actually, it made my old computer feel new (except the high resolution made games lag more lol). But with my new one, the screen is much clearer, sharper and things look nicer. Not sure if that is again W7, or my graphics card, or what. But I love it.
Thank you Jay for inspiring me to actually make my own computer. It's been a adventure and lots of fun. I don't think I'd have nearly as good a computer if I hadn't made it myself.

Did your old PC use DVI or VGA? If you were running a LCD on VGA, I could understand if it suddenly seemed clearer on a video card with DVI input. Otherwise, that's kinda weird.
Cool. Glad you like it. The PC randomly turning off the other day has me kinda concerned that there's something going on with the power.. but I dunno. Hopefully it was just a power surge or something minor.

Actually, I had an adapter for my VGA to DVI. But yeah, it was normally a VGA.
I'm no longer really worried about it. I mean, it would be nice to figure out what it was, but I really don't think it will happen again. If it does, I'll be sure to post it and look into it more, but the fact that it happened while i wasn't here makes me a bit frustrated.
