I remember the Bloody Roar games. I never did play the ones for PS2 but I did hear they were kinda crappy.
Well, I traded in some games at Gamestop. Not only did I pick up Persona 4 (newly arrived, UNOPENED at a Gamestop without a preorder, which is somehow awesome) but also Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, which is part of the same series. I've been played Nocturne pretty much the whole week, I'm really in love with the game.. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone though. Just because it's old school RPG-ish, not to mention the game is very dark and very, very sacrilegious/blasphemous towards pretty much every religion, seeing as how every religious entity is in this game. Everything from Legion to Beezlebub and Metatron.

Sounds like you got a deal! I see what your boredom is getting you, lol. Bloody Roar was only good on PSX, it didn't translate very well on PS2 for some reason. I would have thought it would have owned on it, but I guess not. As far as what I've been playing, I am still fairly obsessed with Combat Arms, though I don't get to play it as much as I want to due to the holidays. I have also been watching my sister-in-law while her mom is at work, and she's been playing Wind Waker, which is a sickly annoying and abstract-thinking game. The puzzles are SO freaking easy once you get it, yet so flippin' random that you couldn't guess it at all.

I got a few games for Christmas (via Santa). Chaos Legion, Mercenaries and mostly Rouge Galaxy. I've dabbled in Chaos Legion and Mercs a bit, but a lot of my in-between sleep and work time went to Rouge Galaxy today. This game is one of the funnest and more refreshing RPGs I've ever played. The story is fairly typical. Mostly consisting (so far) a teen boy wanting to travel in space and leaving his home planet which is in bondage. The characters are pretty cool though. The gameplay is what is really hooking me though. It seems to take a lot of really cool elements from a lot of RPGs and put them together. It also takes a few from action games like a much needed "jump" button. As well as climbing and some others. Battles are pretty cool as well. Much like SO2+3, they are real time, however, you battle in the spot your at in the town/world, rather than being randomly transported to a default battle area. It IS a battle system though, not a normal action RPG style. You also have a few more options, like being able to shoot and attack melee style. As well as take suggestions from your allies (who are surprisingly not stupid). On top of all of this, there is almost no dreaded "introduction" to the game. It all happens fast and you are not bogged down reading endless tutorials and listing to meaningless characters introduce themselves. Tutorials make themselves known during a battle every battle or two for the first 5 minutes in quick "tip" form, but that's about it. Lastly the art/graphics really give it an awesome atmosphere. The designs of characters, ships and worlds are awesome and capturing. It's an awesome game and I'd have to suggest it to anyone who is a bit board with the normal RPGs.

I've heard of Rouge Galaxy, never really looked into it though. From what I recall it's made by Level 5, the same developer that did Dark Cloud (which I never played) and Dragon Quest VIII. I need something to do though, so I'll probably take a look.
I've been poking around PS1 games trying to find something to play, more or less. Mostly been playing Breath of Fire 3.. it's kinda hard to get into though. It's very, very "average" RPG material from the battle system to the characters to the story. I did love Breath of Fire 2 though. Although, it hasn't aged well and the translation sucked bad. But it had a pretty awesome cast of characters. You got a dude who turns into dragons, a chick with black angel wings, a tigergirl, a monkey, some kind of rhino-armadillo, a plant/mushroom girl, a snake girl and a frog. It's kinda like Utawarerumono, in that everyone in the game is some kind of freaking furry.

Yeah, Rogue Galaxy is possibly the best RPG I've played in a long time (although I don't play many...). The story is fairly typical of most RPGs to a point, but I really like the characters and the gameplay is just flippin solid. Justin went out and bought it a week or 2 ago and has been breathing it's very discharge. You could probably borrow it from him when he's done so you done have to spend precious monies. I never got to play any of the Breath Of Fire games. I saw Justin playing one of the newer ones often. Looked pretty fun...

Justin lent me his Rogue Galaxy. I just got Jupis and, from the looks of it, I'll probably get Deego soon. Pretty fun game so far, though.
I also got a new flash card for my Nintendo DS so I went from NO GAMES to Holy crap TOO MANY GAMES, WHAT DO I DO.

Awesome. Deego is a really cool character. You're almost to where the story starts to get interesting, and you start to see the bigger picture. Although, you've probably already gotten there and past me already. I haven't gotten to play Rogue Galaxy in a week or so. Tis annoying. Good job going from one extreme to another! I have way to many games to play too... I still haven't really touched Chaos Legion or Mercenary's. Plus, Micheal and I went to Corey's and played Call of Duty 4 on his PS3 for 6 hours straight yesterday. I want a PS3... -_- I had never actually played one, but man. Now that I've played both Xbox, and PS3, I seriously see no reason to buy an Xbox over a PS3 except the price. PS3 has EVERYTHING you could want from a system. I can't wait till another price drop (if it'll ever even happen).

Just bought Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood. I played a few missions and man is it hard. Not only do you die in like, 3 hits, but you also have to make very tactical decisions, such as flanking the enemy, commanding 3 or 4 other squad members, all while trying to aim with no scope or crosshairs. What's really cool about it, is the amount of support you get from your team. Unlike most games, the AI on your team is actually smart, and makes good choices depending on the ones you're currently making. There is a pretty simple but extensive command system you have to use in-battle to make them defend an area, to cover fire, or just plain out kill the enemy. Reload time is realistic, and your gun recoils very realistic. Enough so that if you shoot to many rounds at a time, you end up looking toward the sky. The amount of rounds you have is limited due to the limited supply actually in effect in WWII, so you can't just shoot off rounds like it's nothing. This is really annoying on a couple missions where you have to take out the enemy who is in heavy cover, and all you see is their head. Anyway, I am pretty impressed with it, and it's 2-4 player as well. >: ) Here is a good action gameplay vid. Mostly just showing the action, after all your strategic points have been covered, which is basically skipping half the game.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kZTpNvpPjwHere's a good E3 series for it, and talks about it while they are playing the game, so you get a good feel for it. At least watch the first couple of vids here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NQjAWQO2Sowww.youtube.com/watch?v=gqtLZAG_qis&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=seGTmrLZQGQ&feature=related www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHxEDNzWGhY&feature=related

Whoa... THAT sounds like it would be a fun game. To bad it's never going to come to the US though. I am finding that most of the good DS games never come here. If half the Jap games they came out with came here, I'd probably get a DS

Yeah, it's never coming to the states.. although, Best Buy carried it along with the Bleach DS game (import) a couple of years back. Like you could actually walk down to Best Buy and find it on the shelf. Which I find really strange since they weren't in english.
